Chrome plating continues to be the coating of choice as there are no substitution for the real metal finishing applications. Demand for chrome’s bright and lustrous finish continues to grow despite competition from other finishes, such as vapor deposition. Chromium has withstood the competitive challenges due to its unmatched aesthetics as well as its superior technical capabilities.
Taiyo with its expertise on the molding dies and multi component injection is able to produce high value plating finishing on plastic. Our products are widely used in automotive interior parts, electric and electronic devices, etc.
Taiyo’s original technology allows for the gloss level to be adjusted continuously to add design flexibility. We can produce customised textured designs and minute designs such as hair line and spinning. We can add colorized hues on the plated surface to give an alternative look without losing the cool to touch feel and with added corrosion protection and fingerprint smudges resistance.
In line with EU REACH requirements, Taiyo has developed Chrome 6 free plating line to cater to the environmental regulations and to move towards sustainable development goals.
Textured Surface designs
Laser texturing allows for intricate and consistent designs to be added to the injection mold. The process offers limitless design possibilities. These textures enable individualization of products in the automotive components by mimicking the look of leather, geometric patterns and much more. A great advantage of a laser-textured surface is reproducible because the data is consistent. The error margins are very small, and the process is repeatable.
Colorized coating on Chrome
Industry’s first high-performance coating technology.
It improves the corrosion and fingerprint resistance of Black Chrome-Ⅲ, Copper and Bronze plating. It also gives very high abrasion and chemical resistance compared to conventional coating. Despite the coating – the original feeling and vivid color of metals prevails. By adding the colorant in to the coating – new and unique color aspects can be achieved, not possible by regular metal color only. Silica-based coating opens new possibilities for plastic plating designs.
